The majority of today popular diets DON’T GIVE RESULTS. Sometimes they help you lose some weight, but, in the long run, you gain it again. These diets are based on Cal measuring and point system and most of them will disappoint you.

Purpose of one diet is not to impose different limits in your diet and deprive you of what’s really important for your body, but, to achieve results in short period of time by simple changes in your everyday eating habits.

MED DIET 10 SECRETS TO LOSE WEIGHT FAST :

Italian Rocket Pasta with Parmesan Cheese

1/ EAT LOTS OF FRESH FRUIT AND VEGETABLES

  • Vegetables: tomatoes, broccoli, carrots, spinach, cucumbers, onions, sweet peppers etc. 
  • Fruit: apples, pears, oranges, grapes, figs, bananas, peaches, melons etc. 

2/ EAT HEALTHY FOOD

Beetroot Salad with Green Peas & Rocket

  • Legumes: beans, lentils, peas, chickpeas etc.
  • Tubers: potatoes, sweet potatoes, turnips etc.
  • Nuts and seeds: walnuts, almonds, hazelnuts, aronia, goji etc.
  • Whole grains: whole oats, brown rice, whole grain bread and pasta, corn
  • Fish and seafood: salmon, sardines, tuna, oysters, shrimp, crab, mussels etc.
  • Eggs
  • Poultry
  • Herbs and spices: oregano, basil, rosemary, nutmeg, garlic etc.
  • Dairy: yogurt, cheese, feta cheese, Greek yogurt
  • Healthy fats: extra virgin olive oil, olives

3/ AVOID SALT AND SUGAR

      Excellent replacement for salt is – lemon. Lemon gives taste to your food and is extremely healthy. Good replacements for sweets are:  fruit, healthy snacks, honey or tahini with honey.

  3. Thank you for these helpful tips and recommendations for losing weight. It always surprises me that the best way to lose weight is by eating better, not just exercising. I often think that if I eat this one unhealthy food and then exercise for this long, I’ll be fine. But our bodies don’t work like that, especially as we get older.

    I know that I need to have better eating habits. This Mediterranean plan sounds good. I prefer plans that are a lifestyle, not a diet. People never stick to diets because they get old after a while, especially if they involve shakes and specific bars. I like having real food to choose from.

      I totally agree with your points. It is true that the best way to lose weight is to combine healthy eating habits and exercise. You can not rely only on exercise.  And….I’m glad that you liked the Mediterranean Plan. It is really about a lifestyle and  not a diet. However, it helps  both and there’s a beauty and “magic” of the Mediterranean diet. That’s why it’s my No1 diet choice.

  4. I’ve been trying lots of different techniques for trying to lose weight quickly. But whatever I do is just turning out to be a very slow process – Whether it’s exercising at the gym two times a week, going for a brisk walk every day and cutting out the junk food.

    I need to do more!

    Looking through your tips, I think I need to start drinking more water (since I only drink 2 glasses per day) and also start eating healthier.

    I guess when it comes to losing weight, it’s a combination of various strategies rather than implementing just 1 or 2.

      What I liked very much about Mediterranean diet are – excellent and fast results: you both feel well and could notice changes on your body soon after starting this diet. But, you have to forget different unhealthy habits and temptations and to take care of basic Med Diet rules. It’s not just about drinking more water or eating a bit healthier… It’s about mentioned rules.

      I’ve tested it without any exercise and very soon had nice results. Of course, exercise helps, as well as walking, spending time outdoors etc.

  6. Totally agree with the points that you mentioned. There are so many commercial products these days that claimed to help you lose weight in 20 days with one packet of this and that and for me, that’s just absurd.

    I’ve seen people skip meals, take energy bars or exercise vigorously without paying attention to what they are eating. And those lost weights just keep coming back. People need to realize that a balanced nutrition is key to a healthy body mass index – not some speedy formulation that you buy over the counter.

    • I absolutely agree with everything you said, Cathy. People search for some “magic” and “super-fast” formulas. Their main goal should be – to have long-lasting results using healthy methods, instead of super-fast and often dangerous.
