This Quick and Easy Garlic Butter Shrimp Recipe is a perfect quick dinner or appetizer idea! I love it because it combines garlic and buttery goodness, ready in 20 minutes or less.

IS IT HEALTHY TO EAT SHRIMP? Shrimp are a great source of vitamin D and B, selenium and omega-3 fatty acids. They are low in calories and full of nutrients.  In the recipe case, the shrimp are coated in butter, which is not the most healthful way to prepare shrimp, but if everything’s in moderation – then, it’s fine.

Easy Garlic Butter Shrimp Recipe

Be sure to use fresh minced garlic here, not the stuff that comes in a jar, because it doesn’t taste the same! These garlic butter shrimp cook very quickly. As soon as the shrimp turn pink and opaque, they’re done. Be sure to watch carefully so that the shrimp don’t get overcooked! And… Always keep a bag of shrimp in the freezer so that you can whip up these garlic butter shrimp for an easy dinner.

QUICK AND EASY GARLIC BUTTER SHRIMP RECIPE

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 15 minutes

Total Time: 20 minutes

Servings: 4-6

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 1/2pounds medium shrimp, peeled /or unpeeled, as preferred

  • 5 tbsp unsalted butter, divided

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 1/4 cup chicken stock

  • Juice of 1 lemon, or more, to taste

  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley leaves

  • Red pepper flakes to taste (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Let it bubble for a few minutes, watching it closely until it starts to turn golden.  Add the shrimp and garlic to the skillet and cook for around 7-8 minutes or until the shrimp are cooked through, stirring often.

  2. Add in the lemon, chicken stock, parsley, salt & pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired.

  3. Serve immediately. Garnish with parsley leaves or lime slices, as preferred
