20-Minute Beef and Broccoli Recipe

This 20-Minute Beef and Broccoli Recipe is a perfect recipe for busy weeknights.  What I love about this beautiful family meal, aside from the fact that it tastes so delicious, is how quick it is to make.  Once you have the prep work done, it literally takes 5 minutes to actually cook. I’m sure it will become favorite in your home.

20-MINUTE BEEF AND BROCCOLI RECIPE

20-Minute Stir Fry Beef Casserole

Prep Time: 15 mins

Cook Time: 5 mins

Total Time: 20 mins

Servings: 4 servings

Ingredients

Fresh Beef with Rosemary, Hot Pepper, Garlic

  • 1 pound lean beef, cut into thin strips

  • 4 cups fresh uncooked broccoli florets in bite-sized pieces

  • 1 cup peppers/or zucchini/ or any other vegetable you have on hand (thinly sliced)

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp sherry

  • 2 tbsp oil (for high-heat frying)

  • 1 small yellow onion halved and then sliced

  • 1 tbsp minced fresh garlic

  • 1 tbsp minced fresh ginger

For the Sauce

  • 1/3 cup soy sauce

  • 1/3 cup water

  • 1/3 cup brown sugar

  • 1 tbsp sherry

  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seed oil

  • 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper

  • 1  1/2 tsp cornstarch

Side Dish (if  you like)

  • Boiled rice

Garnish with lightly toasted sesame seeds, if preferred

INSTRUCTIONS

One-pot Carrots and Broccoli Recipe

Useful tip: Start with a side dish (rice boiling) first, in order to have a complete dinner (main course + side dish) ready at a scheduled time.

1. Toss the beef strips with the soy sauce and sherry. Set aside until ready to use.

2. Combine the sauce ingredients until the cornstarch is dissolved. Set aside until ready to use.

3. Heat the oil over high heat in a wok or large heavy skillet (Note: The quick cooking times assume you’re using a wok or heavy skillet over very high heat).

4. Once very hot, add the beef and fry until lightly browned (about 2 minutes). Add the onions, garlic, and ginger and fry for another minute. Add a little more oil – if necessary. Then, add the broccoli and other veggies. Fry for 2 minutes / or until crisp-tender. Stir in the sauce and simmer for another minute.

5. Serve immediately with boiled rice. Enjoy!
